Nursing Unit and Pharmacy
Chemotherapy drugs are mixed on site by licensed pharmacists. Treatments are administered by registered nurses who are accredited by the Oncology Nursing Society.
The Nursing and Pharmacy departments carry out the physicians' treatment orders. The pharmacist mixes patients' drugs and the chemotherapy nurses administer those drugs and carefully monitor treatments. The nurses consult with physicians before, during, and after treatment, to ensure proper care. Our Nursing staff provides patient education and directs patients to appropriate community services. A registered nurse is available by phone during daily business hours, Monday through Friday, to help with questions regarding medicines, symptom control and to direct patients to appropriate sources of medical care.
